é The Municipal House and the Powder Tower. The Municipal House of the capital city Prague was built in Art Nouveau style in 1905-11. The main hall is the Smetana Hall, but the club rooms on the first floor are interesting too, with their pictures by Alfons Mucha and other Czech artists. The mosaic in the cupola of the main facade is named "Homage to Prague".
é Wenceslas Square is the main artery of Prague and is 750 meters long. Its main ornament is the statue of St. Wenceslas. At the top of the square stands the monumental building of the National Museum, built in neo-Renaissance style in 1885-90.
é The National Theatre - built in neo-Renaissance style in 1868-81. The sculptural and painting decoration of the theatre is a peak example of Czech art of the 19th century.
é The House At the Sign of the Black Mother of God - this is one of the few Cubist houses in Prague.
é The Building of the Nationale Nederlanden on the Rašín Embankment, which the people of Prague call "The Dancing House" or "Ginger and Fred". |
